How to use Notes
Notes is a place for meeting notes, client checklists and half-formed ideas. It keeps working when your connection does not, and everything you write can be shared, tagged and searched.
Start here
New to Notes? Do these in order.
Get set up
Do these once, when you start.
Write your first note
Open Notes, start typing, and use “/” to add headings, checklists, tables and images.
Organise notes into notebooks
Make a notebook for each client, project or part of life, and keep notes where you expect them.
Find notes fast with tags and smart folders
Label notes with tags like #gst, and save searches that keep themselves up to date.
Start a note from a template
Reuse the shape of notes you write often — an agenda, a client call, a weekly review.
Daily work
The jobs you do every day or every week.
Keep a to-do list with checklists and action items
Turn notes into things to do, and see every open item from all your notes in one list.
Set a reminder on a note
Get reminded about a note at the right time — once, or on a repeat.
Take meeting notes and voice notes
Keep meeting notes together, record a voice note, or scan paper pages straight into a note.
Attach files and photos to a note
Drop in a PDF, image or document, or link a file that already lives in Drive.
Search your notes
Find any note by a word you remember — and, where Pulse is on, ask a question of your notes.
Archive, delete and get notes back
Clear old notes out of the way, and bring back one you deleted by mistake.
Bring notes in and take a copy out
Import Markdown or text files, and export any note as Markdown, text or a web page.
Work with your team
Bring in colleagues and your accountant.
