Who this is for

Store teams doing a monthly, quarterly or year-end stock count.

Before you start

  • A quiet time to count — ideally with no deliveries or dispatches in between.

Steps

  1. Step 1: Start a Physical Stock Count

Open Documents and choose Physical stock count.

  2. Step 2: Pick what to count

Choose a warehouse and load the book quantities — what Inventory thinks is there.

  3. Step 3: Enter what you counted

Type the counted quantity for each item, scan items with a handheld scanner, or import a count sheet.

  4. Step 4: Review the differences

Look at the Difference column. Excess and short items are highlighted so you can recount anything that looks wrong.

  5. Step 5: Post the count

Post the count to correct the stock to what you counted.

What happens next

Your stock balances now match the shelves, and the count stays on record for your auditor.

Questions

Can I count one shelf at a time?

Yes. Filter the count sheet to narrow what is on screen — nothing is removed from the count.
