Inventory

Set up your warehouses and storage places

Tell Inventory where you keep stock — a shop, a godown, a shelf — so every movement says where it happened.

  • 4 steps

Before you start

Who this is for

Anyone setting up Inventory for a business with one or more places to keep stock.

Before you start

  • A list of the places you keep stock.

Steps

  1. Step 1: Open Warehouses

Open Masters and, under Places, choose Warehouses.

  2. Step 2: Add a warehouse

Add a new one and type the Warehouse name — for example “Main shop” or “Godown 2”.

  3. Step 3: Group them if you have many

Use Warehouse groups to group warehouses by city or purpose, and choose a Parent warehouse if one sits inside another.

  4. Step 4: Add locations inside a warehouse (optional)

Under Locations, add racks, shelves or bins and choose their Parent location, if you want to know exactly where an item sits.

What happens next

Your warehouses can be picked on items, receipts, dispatches and transfers, and stock reports can be split by warehouse.

Questions

I only have one shop. Do I need this?

Add one warehouse for it. Every stock movement needs to say where it happened.
