Before you start

Who this is for

Owners and accountants adding a business to AICOUNTLY.

Before you start

  • The company’s name, constitution type (for example LLP or private limited) and registered address.
  • Your company logo, if you want it on invoices.

Steps

  1. Step 1: Start a new company

Open Companies and choose Add Company.

  2. Step 2: Name it

Enter the Company Name, the Print Name (as it should appear on invoices) and a Short Name, and choose the Constitution Type.

  3. Step 3: Add contact and legal details

Add the company email, mobile and telephone, and the CIN if it has one.

  4. Step 4: Add the addresses

Enter the registered office and company office addresses. City and PIN are required, and for India so is the State.

  5. Step 5: Choose the year and stock method

Check the financial year and Default Stock Valuation, upload the logo, and save.

Tip: If a company with this name is already registered, Manage tells you — ask for access to it instead of creating it again.

What happens next

You land on the welcome page with next steps: add branches, financial years and key persons, share access, or open an app. The company is ready in Smart Books, Billing, Inventory and Drive.

Questions

Can I edit the company later?

Yes, if you created it. Open Companies, choose the company and edit it.

I created the company in Smart Books. Do I need to do it again here?

No. It is the same company — open it here to add branches, years and people.
