Release Notes for AICOUNTLY Smart Books Version 2.0

14 Sep 2026

Smart Books 2.0 moves stock out of Books and into AICOUNTLY Inventory, so items and warehouses are maintained once and shared across the suite, and rebuilds GST filing and reconciliation around errors you can actually trace back to the voucher that caused them.

Major Changes

Stock Now Lives in Inventory

  • Items, units, godowns and bills of material moved to AICOUNTLY Inventory and are read live from there, so the same item is no longer maintained separately in two products.
  • Stock figures in Books and the warehouse records in Inventory come from one source rather than two copies that drift apart.

GSTR-1 Filing, Checked Before It Goes

  • Returns are validated before filing, and download and filing stay blocked while errors remain.
  • Every validation error traces back to the voucher and item that caused it, instead of reporting a failure with nowhere to look.

GSTR-2B Reconciliation Rebuilt

  • A filterable worklist that prefills a purchase voucher from the portal data, carrying the rate-wise breakup.
  • Each supplier's ledger is remembered between reconciliations, and supplier chasing is logged.

Imports You Can Check

  • Imports run a deterministic extraction engine first and call on AI only where it is needed, then show what was actually verified.
  • Segment reporting added for transfer-pricing audit and AS 17 segmentals.

Minor Changes

Item Master & Registers

  • Item Master gains Group, Category, Unit, Tax Category and Status filters, with new editors for Items, Item Units, Stock Categories and Material Centre Groups.
  • Register lists export to Excel and PDF, and long import batches show progress rather than appearing to hang.
  • Optional GST columns on the Inventory Summary, and a rebuilt Cost Centre report.

Bug Fixes

Banking

  • Connected bank feed sync was not working at all, and bank ledger import returned no rows. Both are fixed.

Vouchers & Registers

  • Voucher numbering silently restarted at the new financial year.
  • Register footer totals were cut off above 5,000 vouchers.
  • Debit note item lines double-counted stock.
