What is the PF contribution rate for employer and employee?
Under the EPF scheme, both the employee and the employer contribute 12% of PF wages (basic plus dearness allowance, and retaining allowance if any). The employee’s 12% goes entirely to the EPF account.
The employer’s 12% is split: 8.33% goes to the Employees’ Pension Scheme (calculated on wages up to the Rs 15,000 monthly ceiling) and the balance to the EPF account. The employer also pays administrative charges separately. Confirm the current figures on the EPFO website.
