About this contributor

A new company needs three things first: a unit of measure, a warehouse and an item. Aicountly Inventory shows these as a first-run checklist on the overview until all three exist.

  1. Unit of measure (Masters → Units of measure): for example Kg, Pcs or Ltr. Every item is stocked and valued in one base unit, and the item's Base unit list stays empty until you add one.
  2. Warehouse (Masters → Warehouses): where stock is kept. Stock documents move goods into and out of a warehouse.
  3. Item: the goods you buy, make or sell. Opening stock can be entered along with the item.

Nothing is created for you automatically, so the units and warehouses reflect how your business actually counts and stores stock.
