Release Notes for AICOUNTLY Connect Version 2.0
12 Sep 2026
Chat is now Connect, and it does considerably more than chat: one-to-one audio and video calling in the browser, native apps for iPhone and Android, and calls that ring on the lock screen. The product moved to connect.aicountly.com on 31 August 2026.
Major Changes
Audio and Video Calling
- One-to-one audio and video calls in the browser, with device switching, call controls, and recovery when the network drops mid-call.
- A noise-cancellation toggle in call settings.
Native Mobile Apps
- Android and iOS apps, with calls working between phone and browser and incoming calls ringing natively on the lock screen.
- Mobile sign-in by OTP, by Google, LinkedIn or Microsoft, or by email and password.
Groups, Search and Trash
- Create a group with members; search inside message bodies rather than only across open conversations.
- A direct message now shows the other person's name rather than your own.
- Chats can be deleted and restored from a Trash tab.
Attachments Land in Drive
- Files shared in a conversation are saved into Drive, so they appear in the shared document library rather than only inside the chat.
Renamed from Chat
What Changed
- The product is now Connect and is served from connect.aicountly.com.
- Some sign-in and integration URLs still read "chat". That is the internal product key, which deliberately did not change, and is not a mistake.
Bug Fixes
Conversations & Files
- Attachments stored in Drive could not be downloaded from Connect at all.
- "New chat" returned an error when a conversation with that person already existed.
- Chat requests were shown to the sender instead of the recipient.
- Signing out opened an external browser with no way back into the app.
